On September 29th, after three glorious years working out of Napier University’s business “incubator”, these eggs have well and truly hatched so we are flying the nest.
This has already been an exciting year, with us working with the NHS and AWDis. When we took on new staff, Gérman (junior developer), Andrew (mobile app developer) and Olivier (back end developer), our team doubled in size. It was then that we realised we were literally growing out of our office. Our plans to grow the team some further and tackle new industries mean this is set to be a big year for us. It is vital that we are in a space with the capacity for us to flourish.
Then along came Ajenta, an enterprise video communications company who have also experienced an incredible few years of growth. Ajenta invited us to join them in their shiny new office by the shore in Leith. With an emphasis on collaboration, the Ajenta Hub will be a fresh and dynamic environment to work in. We know that this new location will allow us to cement our position as one of the leading app development companies in Edinburgh.
There will of course be a few tears shed as we pack up our office in the Bright Red Ventures incubator. When we first moved into the incubator, we were wide eyed software postgrad students with a big idea. This outstanding facility, equipped with high spec equipment and software licences, allowed us to start our business from nothing.
The incubator has nurtured us, providing opportunities to collaborate with other businesses, influence campaigns and utilise the school’s wide network of contacts. As we have grown, we have found confidence in advising students and even giving lectures. We will be eternally grateful for the support Napier has given us.
The past three years have been an amazing (and sometimes emotional!) journey for us as a business and we are so grateful for all the support we have received from Napier, our business friends and our fantastic clients.
We are looking forward to continuing to work with all of you from our new office at the Ajenta Hub, 96-2 Commercial Quay (just opposite the Scottish Parliament building). We are excited about getting settled into our new surroundings and are already beginning to think about local lunch spots… All recommendations welcome!
If you’re in the area, or would just like to come and see our new digs, get in touch, we’d love to have you.
Now, I guess we should start packing.
