The brief
i-immersive ran ClassView, a virtual classroom platform used by roughly 10,000 people across 90 organisations. But the legacy stack was holding the business back: live teaching sessions were being disrupted, customers expected more from the product, and mainstream tools such as Teams and Zoom were raising the bar for video collaboration.
What we did
i-immersive came to GearedApp with a working business, an established customer base and a platform that had reached its technical limits. ClassView was already supporting live teaching across colleges and training providers, but the legacy architecture was becoming harder to scale, maintain and extend. The only sustainable path forward was a full rebuild on a modern cloud-native stack.

We rebuilt the platform on AWS with WebRTC for real-time communication, then migrated customers organisation by organisation using feature flags, staging environments and rollback plans to protect live teaching during cutover. The new platform introduced:
- Role-based access and multi-factor authentication
- Structured session management with recurring schedules and calendar integration
- Breakout rooms and event-style sessions for wider collaboration
- Recording, AI transcription and searchable learning content
- Organisation-by-organisation migration with rollback plans at each stage

How we approached it
We delivered the rebuild through structured sprints, parallel staging environments and carefully controlled rollout phases. Because ClassView was already supporting live teaching, migration risk had to be managed as closely as product scope. Feature flags separated deployment from customer exposure, allowing the team to test architectural changes, build confidence and move organisations across in controlled stages.

Transforming the experience
The legacy platform relied on PIN-based session security and basic point-to-point room connections. ClassView 2 introduced structured sessions, role-based permissions, event-style collaboration, mobile access and improved moderation controls. The result was a more reliable, secure and scalable platform for immersive learning across multi-campus organisations.
For i-immersive as a business, the rebuild changed what the product could become. Instead of competing only on video connectivity, ClassView 2 created a SaaS foundation for structured pedagogy, advanced collaboration, premium features, AI-powered learning tools and future marketplace concepts.

In their words
"We've worked closely with GearedApp for several years as our outsourced development partner, and they've become an integral part of our business. From day one, Josh and Andrzej have led the relationship with openness, trust, and a genuine commitment to our success. Their team consistently deliver high-quality, reliable work, often going above and beyond to ensure our projects not only meet deadlines but exceed expectations. What stands out most is their ability to combine technical expertise with a collaborative approach, making them feel less like an agency and more like an extension of our own team."
