SanoMedSolutions came to us with a stubbornly slow process. Medication-fitness inquiries for safety-critical rail roles often took over an hour to resolve over email, with no audit trail and no consistency between specialists. We worked together to design SanoMedCheck, a structured platform that captures the inquiry once, runs it against a curated medication database, and produces a clear, audit-trailed decision in under thirty minutes.

The build covered both the user-facing flow and the operational backend:

• A traffic-light classification framework so submitters could see fitness state at a glance
• A pre-classified medication database with Algolia-powered search, designed to grow as new medications and classifications are added
• Multi-role access for occupational health, employer admins, and rail safety teams, with EU data storage for GDPR
• Email automation via Resend to keep response times tight without manual chasing

How we approached it

The platform had to stay clear of medical-device regulation while still offering decisions that the safety-critical world could rely on. We walked that line carefully. The system supports the specialist decision rather than replacing it, captures everything for audit, and keeps the medication knowledge base curated by qualified clinicians rather than algorithmically generated. The build sat on React, Firebase, and Firestore, with Firebase Auth handling identity inside an EU-resident dataset to keep the GDPR position clean.

Before SanoMedCheck, a single inquiry could occupy an hour or more across multiple email threads, with no structured audit and no reliable way to track patterns over time. Now, submissions arrive in a structured form, route automatically based on role and content, and surface decisions to the submitter with a documented basis. The platform was built for enterprise use from day one: dual-routing, role separation, complete logging, and the kind of EU-compliant data posture rail customers expect.
